If you know anything about Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis, you know what horrible diseases they are. For those that don’t know, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are very painful and medically incurable diseases of the digestive system. My husband has Ulcerative Colitis so I know firsthand how much these diseases can impact a person’s health and lifestyle.
My husband has joined Team Challenge and is training to complete a half marathon (13.1 miles) to raise funds and awareness for these diseases. The interesting thing about this is that he’s not a runner and never has been. However, over the past two weeks of training he has grown to enjoy it and has been encouraged to see his endurance, strength and stamina increase. Their marathon is in July and he has until the end of May to reach his fundraising goal of $5,000.
Can I ask you a favor? Will you choose to sacrifice going out to lunch today and instead donate $10 so that someone’s life can be changed for the better? Can you stay home and watch TV on Friday instead of going out to the movies and donate $20 so that a child suffering from Crohn’s Disease can attend a summer camp with other kids that suffer from the same disease. A camp where they are understood and feel “normal”. A camp where they have a dedicated medical staff to watch over them and a camp where they can experience life to the fullest despite their diseases.
If you feel led to help, please Donate to Team Challenge. All deductions are tax deductible and 80% of all donations are guaranteed to be applied to the mission of curing Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. The other 20% of all donations cover the operating expenses of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
Also, for every person that donates $100, I’m offering a portrait session with an 8×12 print. So, if you’ve been wanting to get a portrait session done, here is great motivation. Not only will it save you money off the regular combined session and print price, it is also tax deductible. So, if this is something that you are interested in, let me know that you’ve donated when you book your session so that I can give you this special offer. Or, if you just want to help and realize that even $10 can help improve someone’s quality of life, please help by donating.
And, if you want to follow my husband along over the next 16 weeks as he trains, you can check out his training blog he just started. Thank you.
