I’m so excited. Chris, being the loving and supportive husband that he is, signed me up to attend a Me Ra Koh photography workshop in San Diego over the Memorial Day holiday. The workshop will be hosted at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Very cool. We’re planning to use it as an excuse to make a little family vacation out of it by having Chris come along with Adam and Kelsey. While I’m in my workshop all day, Chris and the kids will be exploring Legoland, the San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, and just hanging out at the beach.
I’m very excited to spend some time learning from an international award winning wedding photographer like Me Ra. While I’m not a wedding photographer (yet:-)), it’s a rare opportunity to spend a few days learning and practicing with professionals that have been doing this for a lot longer than I have. These types of professional development opportunities are critical in helping me hone my craft. The workshop begins on Friday, May 23rd and concludes at the end of the day on Sunday, May 25th. On Monday the 26th, I’m attending a special session hosted by Me Ra and Carey Schumacher from San Diego Barefoot Memories. They will be focusing on the business side of photography and I’m really looking forward to hearing from two women (and mothers) that have successfully gone through the transition from hobbyist to professional that I am currently attempting to go through.
Back in October 2007, I had the opportunity to attend another workshop hosted by Me Ra at the Villa Bed and Breakfast in Tacoma. Following are some photos that I captured during that workshop.
